Founded as Yamakawaya Ryokan, the inn was reborn in 2012 as " Yumori-Shomian Yamakawa."
We continue the welcoming spirit of the historic inn, now over a century old.

Onogawa Onsen, Where Ono no Komachi Restored Her Health.

Renowned for its excellent spring quality and skin-beautifying effects, it has been cherished as a therapeutic hot spring resort and the exclusive retreat (Okuzashiki) of Yonezawa.

Yoshizane Hot Springs

Enjoy two distinct bathing experiences: an open-air bath with charming rockwork and a large stone-built bathhouse.
The natural hot spring water flows directly from the source, with the bath attendant adjusting the flow to maintain the perfect temperature.

For a true culinary experience, come to Yonezawa. Enjoy high-quality meats, starting with Yonezawa Beef, one of Japan's three major Wagyu breeds. Also available are traditional vegetables like soybean sprouts and snow vegetables (Yukina), mountain vegetables such as Urui, Asatsuki, and Koshiabura, and local dishes like stewed carp and Hiya-jiru (cold soup). Savor a wide variety of tastes.
